Learning to love yourself

SoOoO... I just wanna put this out there, don't expect this to be good advice; to be honest, I cant even call it advice (despite what the label says). But you cant blame me, 17 year old me wrote this and 17 year old me was a wide-eyed bushy-tailed idiot. She wanted to save the world and help other people get through the rough patches of life, and it did not occur to her that her life was full of so much trash that she was not even qualified to be giving out advice of any kind, let alone the love yourself kind. I will say though I kind of admire the me of the past, no matter how shitty things got, she still had that 'light at the end of the tunnel' mind set. I mean, I still have that mind set its just got more to it now, and that is that the light at the end of the tunnel is an on coming train haha. So for those reasons I'm posting this not as the advice post it was meant to be 2 years ago but as a tribute to my hope-in-the-world filled self. - Sam (25/05/2019)

I'm not going to tell you that there's an easy way to loving yourself, because there really isn't. It's something you cant do without constantly having to practice it, morever its not something that will stay with you every single day; you will have your days where loving yourself will be far from possible but not impossible.
Coming from a person trying to love herself, I'm telling you quite frankly its a rough and dark road; but as they say all hard paths lead to a brighter destination (or something like that). I'm not here to preach you on the well beings of inner bonding, but I can assure you that even just giving it a little go can help.
Steps :-
- Be open to the idea of loving yourself
Before anything you need to accept the idea of loving yourself, without doing this first everything else with probably have little to no effect on you.
- Identify what you dont like about yourself
Reflect on what you dislike about yourself and give yourself reasons to love those parts of you. Remember to try and stay positive about your attributes but at the same time, don't feel let down when cant do it on the first go.
- No Bad Vibes
Always keep the negativity at bay, once you learn to stay away from bad thoughts the rest is easy. Surprisingly,
- Perfectionism is a big no no
Some people have trouble accepting anything less than perfection from themselves. If you find yourself pursuing perfectionism and feeling negatively about yourself when you are less than perfect, take three simple steps. Stop your current line of thinking, then focus on the effort that will be required to work towards a goal, then steadily apply the required effort
- Take your feelings into consideration
Be responsible for yourself and the way you feel and the things that make you feel a certain way. When you notice you find more negativity developing in yourself due to cartain people or things learn to stay way from those things or explain your feelings to the person causing them. Always be ready to burn bridges with the ones unwilling to help you grow.
Last but not least accept yourself, flaws and all; you are human and no one should be expected to be perfect in every way.
